Team completes trade with Agua Caliente Clippers and Texas Legends
WILMINGTON, DE – OCT. 16, 2018 – The Delaware Blue Coats, the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, announced today that the team has acquired the returning player rights to forward Cory Jefferson in a three-team trade with the Agua Caliente Clippers and the Texas Legends.
Per the terms of the trade, Agua Caliente will receive the returning player rights to Marc Loving while Texas will receive the returning player rights to Christian Wood, Dionte Christmas, and LaDontae Henton.
A 6-foot-9 forward, Jefferson played in 10 games for the Legends last season after being acquired in February. As a member of the Austin Spurs in 2016-17, Jefferson averaged 15.8 points and 8.4 rebounds in 28.3 minutes per game and was named an NBA G League All-Star. He also played professionally in Italy (Olimpia Milano) and the Philippines (Alaska Aces) for parts of the last two seasons. This past summer, he participated in both MGM Resorts NBA Summer League 2018 and the 2018 Utah Jazz Summer League as a member of the San Antonio Spurs. Additionally, Jefferson played for the NBL’s Melbourne United when the 76ers hosted the Australian team in a preseason game on Sept. 28.
Jefferson, who was originally selected with the No. 60 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, has appeared in 58 career NBA games with Brooklyn and Phoenix and posted averages of 3.5 points and 2.8 rebounds in 10.0 minutes per game. He played his college basketball at Baylor from 2009-14.
