Blue Coats Close Regular Season with W vs. Herd

The Delaware Blue Coats closed out the 2021-22 regular season with a second consecutive victory over the Wisconsin Herd, 132-114, on Saturday night.

With the win and the Capital City Go-Go loss on Saturday night, the Blue Coats officially moved into the third seed in the Eastern Conference as the team prepares for the G League playoffs.

This was another high-scoring and face-paced offensive outing for Delaware, as they ended the first half up 16 points with multiple players in double-digit scoring. One of whom, Charles Bassey, dropped 27 points and grabbed 16 rebounds before the break. 

The Blue Coats ended the night besting the Herd in rebounds by 20 (57-37), and also shot above their season average from the field with 49.5% (49-99).

    • Bassey already secured his double-double in the first half, and finished the night with a career-high 37 points and 21 rebounds.
  • Charlie Brown Jr.
    • Brown recorded 16 points and 14 rebounds along with five assists.
  • Jared Brownridge
    • Brownridge had 22 points in this matchup, going 8-15 from the field.
  • Jaden Springer
    • The Philadelphia 76ers first-round draft pick returned to action after being sidelined with an injury. In his first game back, he recorded 10 points and six assists.
