EIGHT OF 11 PLAYERS ON ROSTER BOAST NBA EXPERIENCE
BLUE COATS AMONG 18 TEAMS SET TO BEGIN PLAY AT DISNEY IN FEBRUARY
WILMINGTON – JAN. 14, 2021 – The Delaware Blue Coats, the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, announced today the team’s 2021 roster. The roster includes nine players who have previously played in NBA regular season games.
The six returning rights players on the Blue Coats roster are Jared Brownridge, Michael Frazier II, Ivan Rabb, Justin Robinson, Brandon Sampson and Julian Washburn. The team’s two affiliate players are Lamine Diane and Frank Mason. In the 2021 NBA G League Draft, Delaware selected Jemerrio Jones (via Wisconsin) with the first pick of the second round (No. 18 overall) and rookie Braxton Key with the fourth pick in the third round (No. 25 overall). NBA assignment-eligible 76ers and two-way contract players (Paul Reed) are also available to provide services to the Blue Coats this season.
This offseason, the Blue Coats received a 2021 third-round pick (Braxton Key) from the Agua Caliente Clippers in exchange for the returning rights to Xavier Johnson. Delaware received a 2021 second-round pick (Jemerrio Jones) and the returning rights to Brandon Sampson from the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in exchange for the No. 12 overall pick in the 2021 NBA G League Draft (Jarron Cumberland). The Blue Coats also received the returning rights to Ivan Rabb and a second-round pick in next season’s draft from the Westchester Knicks in exchange for Delaware’s own first-round pick in next season’s draft.
The NBA G League announced on Jan. 8 that 18 teams, including 17 NBA G League teams and G League Ignite, will take to the court in February at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando. The top eight teams will advance to a single-elimination playoff.
Players, coaches, team and league staff living on the NBA G League’s campus at Walt Disney World Resort will be guided by comprehensive leaguewide health and safety protocols, which are based on the core principles of social distancing, mask wearing, hand hygiene and COVID-19 testing.
