PAUL REED POSTS LEAGUE-LEADING 11TH DOUBLE-DOUBLE OF SEASON
BLUE COATS CLOSE OUT REGULAR SEASON ON SATURDAY AT 3 P.M. VS. MEMPHIS
ORLANDO — MAR. 5, 2021 — The Delaware Blue Coats (10-4), the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, defeated the Salt Lake City Stars (4-11), 93-83, on Friday night at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex near Orlando, Florida. 76ers two-way contract player Paul Reed recorded his 11th double-double of the season with 22 points and a game-high 14 rebounds in 30 minutes. Reed’s 11 double-doubles are the most for any G League player.
76ers two-way contract player Rayjon Tucker totaled 19 points (8-13 FG, 3-7 3FG), nine rebounds, four assists and a steal in 32 minutes. Delaware’s Jordan Bone started and posted 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals in 30 minutes. Isaiah Joe, in his first game action while on assignment from the 76ers, finished with five points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals and a blocked shot for the Blue Coats.
The Blue Coats grabbed a season-high 57 rebounds to win the battle on the boards by 13. Delaware, which entered the game leading the G League in steals per game with 11.3, stole the ball 11 times in the contest. They outscored the Stars 52-24 in the paint.
Salt Lake City got a game-high 23 points (7-12 FG, 2-4 3FG, 5-5 FT) from Dallas Mavericks two-way contract player Tyler Bey. Elijah Hughes and Malik Benlevi each added 12 points for the Stars.
