After splitting the first two games of the Showcase Cup with the Greensboro Swarm, the Delaware Blue Coats host the Capital City Go-Go at Chase Fieldhouse on Thursday night for their home opener.

The Go-Go are also off to a 1-1 start after splitting their first two games with the Raptors 905.

Last season, the Blue Coats were a combined 18-4 at home, including 6-0 in Showcase Cup play and a Showcase Cup Championship.

Newcomer, center Michael Foster Jr., who came over to the Coats after spending last season with the G League Ignite, will be a key piece for the Coats on their quest to defend the Showcase Cup. In the team’s two games against the Swarm, Foster Jr. averaged 22.5 points, eight rebounds and 2.5 blocks while shooting 56.7% from the field and 100% from beyond the arc on three attempts.

Capital City center Vernon Carey Jr. recorded 15 points and pulled down 13 rebounds in the Go-Go’s 125-107 victory over the Raptors 905. The matchup between these two big men to play a pivotal role in the two upcoming games between these two teams.

Mac McClung, another fresh face in Delaware, has stepped up early. McClung was the team’s leading scorer in its first game, tallying 25 points while also collecting two rebounds and three assists. In game two, he was more of a facilitator dishing out five assists to go along with five rebounds and 12 points.

If the Blue Coats want to come out victorious, one key to success will be limiting turnovers throughout the game, while also causing turnovers on the defensive end, as Raptors 905 has coughed the ball up 37 times in their first pair of contests.

The game tonight will begin at 8:00 p.m.
