COATS BEAT WISCONSIN; MCCLUNG DROPS 40

DELAWARE WINS FOURTH STRAIGHT

WILMINGTON – JANUARY 16 – 
The Delaware Blue Coats (6-3) defeated the Wisconsin Herd (3-4) 153-132 on Monday afternoon at Chase Fieldhouse.

Mac McClung led all scorers with a game-high 40 points and seven three-pointers. The Coats got contributions across the board, with Louis King scoring 23 points including five threes. Michael Foster Jr. scored 17 and grabbed 10 rebounds. Julian Champagnie and Charlie Brown Jr. rounded out the starting five with 16 and 13 points, respectively. Braxton Key was the Delaware’s leading scorer off the bench with 14 points.

The Blue Coats were in control for most of the game, and McClung helped finish the job in the fourth. McClung got hot in the final frame, scoring 20 points and converting five three-pointers en route to the Coats' fourth straight win.

Lindell Wigginton led the way for the Herd, scoring 29 points on 6-9 shooting from long range. Paris Bass was a close second, dropping 27 points and 13 rebounds. Elijah Huges came off the bench, scoring 19 points and making four threes for Wisconsin.

Delaware’s 153 points was just three shy of the franchise record of 156.

The Blue Coats will look to make it five straight when they host the Long Island Nets on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Chase Fieldhouse.
